Well this weekend was an action packed one, with muchos fun, and loads of different awesome music which in my book makes it a perfect weekend!
Friday night was fantastic - curry at a friends, with some amazing psytrance made by one of my friends, Chaney. Luckily for you guys quite a few of his tracks have been uploaded on to Soundcloud so you can enjoy them as well.
Click here to get to his soundcloud page where you can view all of the tracks, and I've posted links to a couple of my own favourites below. There are also some nice dubstep tracks that he has made on this link as well, check them out.
Click here for an absolutely gorgeous psytrance tune called Haunted. It has a really nice driving energetic bassline, with lovely haunting melodies. Enjoy!
Click here for a remix of Tom Craft - Loneliness that just sends shivers up my spine! Amazing.
Click here for a Cha-Os tune called Keep da bass @live - again, its just gorgeous. All of these tracks have a really nice energy to them, and this has some really nice elements to it.
I'm only going to post links to those three tracks, however I do strongly recommend that you listen to the rest as they are just incredible!!
Also on my listening menu for today, we have The Black Ghosts. This has been one of my favourite tracks for the past couple of years now, and it would be really nice to see some new material from these guys. The Black Ghosts are a musical duo, Theo Keating and Simon Lord, who had previously worked on various project either individually, or with others, and they collaborated on The Black Ghosts over the internet initially; currently they both have other projects going on in addition to The Black Ghosts (one of which is Fake Blood), but hopefully they will focus on this again pretty soon as they made some really nice music together! Their self titled album from 2008 is definitely worth a full listen but this is my personal favourite off that album.
On Saturday, I went to a hard house / hard dance event in Sheffield called Insomniacz. Now while this isn't always my first choice of music to listen to these days, it does live in a warm place in my heart as it was the first type of electronic dance music that I really got into back in the day; all the other types of electronic dance music that I now love followed on from hard house, so I have a lot to thank it for. I went to this event to support my friend Jon BW who was playing for 90 minutes, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the music that he played and had an awesome night; I've already posted a mix of his from his New Years Day set at Insomniacz in an earlier post, and do recommend that you download it and check it out.
The track that I'm going to share with you though isn't actually one of Jon's, but has been made by one of his friends who goes by the name of Nick the Greek. Jon played this on Saturday night, and the reception to it was great. I love the use of the vocal in this track, and think it gives it quite a euphoric feel - I'm currently listening to it for the third time this afternoon which says a lot for it! It's great, and I will definitely be watching out for other new tracks from Nick.
Click here to give this a listen.
That's all for now but I'll be back again soon no doubt! :) If you've enjoyed these tracks, please share this blog and provide feedback as I'm sure the guys would love to know what people think!
