Bring my beat back...

I'm starting this Thursday morning at a severe disadvantage due to lack of sleep (its all (mostly actually) my own fault so I'm not looking for sympathy!) so I felt that it was time for a change of pace. I've got some really nice chilled out tracks for you, some may think they're a bit depressing, but this first one in particular is beautiful and haunting. However staying true to form I will finish on some more upbeat funky tracks, in the hope that by the end of this listening session, my beat has well and truly been brought back!

I have quite a few treats in store for you today. This first track is part of a new double A side release on the Great Pop Supplement (click here for more info) and it is deliciously haunting and ethereal - I can imagine this being used to really good effect in a sad part of a movie. This is Wish by Still Corners.

This next track is by ASC, and is called Reality Check – it’s a really really well produced and intelligent piece of music. The track builds and progresses in a really nice emotive way, and even though some of the sounds are quite minimal or cold, overall it has a really good depth of feeling that I just love, and the track has some really haunting sounds in there that add to the emotion that it contains. The overall feel of it is quite mellow and minimal almost, but when you listen to it properly it is actually quite complex, with a lot of different layers to it. This is a great IDM track, and one that I really hope you enjoy. I can't wait to listen to their guest mix for Rob Booth's Electronic Explorations website, and will link you guys up when it's posted online.

This next tune is a lovely bit of breakbeat from those guys at Finger Lickin' Records - it is quite an old tune now, having been released originally in 2006, however I still love it - I just love the chunky beats! This is a track with real attitude!

This is another psytrance beauty from Chaney, it's called Bedlam, and its absolutely lovely. I know I linked to his soundcloud page a few days ago, but I wanted to post another one of his tracks for those of you who haven't checked it out yet. Click here to listen.

And last but not least, we have another remix from the Hospital Records hero Sub Focus. This is a remix of Dizzee Rascal's Dirtee Cash, and it's great! This has certainly succeeded in bringing my beat back that's for sure!!

Enjoy! We'll have some fab Friday bangers tomorrow to get you in the mood for the weekend, but in the meantime I hope you have enjoyed listening to these, and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!
