TFI Friday!!!!

After a far more stressful week than usual, I bet I am not the only person who is very relieved to find that the weekend has just about landed - there is only one afternoon left between me and a free weekend, with lots of chilling out, dancing and fun to be had.

So with dancing in mind (and because I've been on a bit of a nostalgia trip this morning in the office, listening to the electronic 80's album), this first track is from one of my all time absolute creative legends. This man is a genius not just with music, but with his writing, art, fashion, in fact he is just a general all round creative guy. He is one of the artists I credit as inspiring me with my passion for music, and this is a classic track. So without further ado, "Let's Dance"!!

Another fantastic track on the album I've been listening to is by Dead or Alive, called "You Spin Me Round" - this is a great sing along track, and over the years we have been treated to a number of cover versions and remixes of it. The version that I am going to play for you is by Marilyn Manson, and I like this as it is quite edgy, and has some attitude to it. Fantastic stuff!

This next track is also by Marilyn Manson, and it's one that I've absolutely loved since the 90's. I know that Marilyn Manson isn't everyones cup of tea, but they were amazing when I saw them live at Leeds fest, and I think this is a great song.

Next up, we have some more modern remixes of classic 80's tunes, this time from the legendary John B, whose 'Trance & Bass' mixmag cd has been a firm favourite for a while. I also love his Electrostep album, and these two remixes of his provide a very modern day twist to some all time classic tunes. I've also included another track from his Electrostep album - which if you haven't already heard, I would seriously recommend you listen to! This is a great album, showcasing a wide variety of influences, and is really fantastic electronic music.

This first is his version of tainted love - I love the female vocals, and the naughty electro beats.

This next track is a cover of a much cheesier track, Hey Mickey - again though he has really done this justice, and managed to make it enjoyable rather than cheesy.

This last track is one of my personal favourites off the Electrostop album and is a collaboration between John B and Castor, and over the past few years has been played and enjoyed countless times. I just love the rawness of the track, and the vocal, which again has such attitude.

As always for a Friday, we have some drum and bass to finish off todays listening, and to fully get you in the mood for the weekend! I hope that you've all got lots of fun things planned, to make the most of the weekend ahead. It seems like there are fantastic lineups most weekends now, as the sun starts shining and everyone starts seriously ramping up a gear for summer, so wherever you are, I'm sure that you are spoilt for choice of what to enjoy!!

This next track is from the Yikes! album brought to us by London Elektricity, and once again features the unmistakeable Elsa Esmerelda on vocals. This is Love the Silence, and it's just great. Click here to get over to London Elektricity's site, and check out the new video for yourself. This is a lovely track, simply delicious.

The last track for today is a storming remix from Netsky - this is his remix of Everyday by Rusko. It's awesome, I love the computer game style noises, and the dirty beat, and the vocal is particularly apt as we get closer to the summer. This is available to buy now, links in the video description.

Have a good weekend!
