Take me to the Hospital! (A review)

Those of you who know me will know how much I love my Drum and Bass, and Hospital Records is my favourite record label, both within the genre, and across my other musical likes as well! They have been going for years now and during this time, have released some storming tunes - in fact I would give my left arm to own their entire back catalogue of music! Some of my favourite DnB producers are part of the Hospital Records stable, and they have a well earned reputation for discovering and promoting fresh exciting new talent, pushing the likes of B Complex and Echo Inada in recent months, both of whom I love.

The Hospitality DnB events are also pushing the boundaries of clubbing events within this genre, with each of their parties receiving rave reviews,  featuring bigger and better line ups each time, and managing to build an incredible level of hype in each host city for weeks prior to the party itself! They always sell out weeks before, and tickets are like gold dust. Plus to this day I have yet to see a better atmosphere in a club environment. (Festivals and gigs are different beasts, and each conjure their own unique and special type of atmosphere - I do feel though that the Hospitality parties are the closest I have come to experiencing a festival type atmosphere in a club environment). The Hospital Records DJ's never fail to impress - in November, Sub Focus did an amazing live show at the Metropolis Presents Hospital Records event in Leeds; Danny Byrd and Netsky also nailed it at that event, and the Hospitality Leeds event at the O2 Academy in February. I was also very impressed with Camo & Krooked, London Elektricity and High Contrast, and I can't wait to see Camo & Krooked again. In addition, I'm really looking forward to seeing B Complex next week in Sheffield and again at the Brixton event in April.

For those of you who, like myself, absolutely love the Hospitality parties, the news that they were to start hosting regular events in a number of different cities across the country will have been more than welcome! (In fact I'd go so far as to say I felt like all my Christmasses had come at once, seeing as it's hard to organise big groups of friends for missions down south all the time!) I feel thoroughly spoilt knowing that there will be regular events in my own hometown of Leeds every 3 months, in addition to regular parties in Manchester and Sheffield which are both within easy reach. Following the success of their takeover of Brixton Academy in September, their next Hospitality Brixton event promises to be incredible, and I am determined to make the journey down to this one to experience it for myself. I have been to large clubbing events at the Brixton Academy before, and it is a venue that lends itself well to this type of party so I am sure that this will be amazing.

Click here for the full line up for the Hospitality Brixton event on the 22nd of April, and to buy tickets.

Click here for the full line up and to buy tickets for the Detonate & Hospitality event at Plug in Sheffield on the 4th of March.

And last but by no means least, click here for tickets for the Hospitality Leeds event. The line up has yet to be announced, however because of this tickets are still currently available at the early bird price of £12.50, and I can promise you - it will be an amazing night!

And now for the music...

Nu:Tone has been synonymous with Hospital Records for years now - he signed to the label in 2003, a couple of years after he first hit the scene - and his new album "Words and Pictures" (due out next week) truly showcases how he has progressed as a producer since his early days. It features some awesome vocals, and some hands in the air dancefloor smashing anthems, and is definitely worth checking out!

You can preview the album on his website by clicking here, and there are links on the website to pre-order.

Here are some of my personal favourites off this album. :)

Anyone who has been to recent Hospitality events, or listened to mixes by the big DnB dj's are likely to be familiar with this track already, as it has been receiving a lot of airplay - and in my opinion it is well deserved! What an amazing vocal, Natalie Williams has an incredible voice.

This has yet another great vocal, and an absolutely delicious drop - very nice and well worth a listen! Lovely and melodic.

This track was a bit of a nice surprise to me - after checking out some of the other tracks on the album, I was expecting quite an uplifting track, similar to the previous two I've shared with you - and while it does have a really nice level of energy to it, I just absolutely love the dirty bass noises!! The vocal complements the track nicely as well - great stuff!

I would definitely recommend checking out the full album!

Another treat from the guys at Hospital is the release of the Danny Byrd Rave Digger Special Edition, which includes additional remixes and VIP tracks. The original Rave Digger album was awesome, and Red Mist VIP has been yet another one of my favourite tracks for a while now. This special edition also includes the Sigma remix of We Can Have it All as well as a few other treats. Check out the full tracklist by clicking here.

I've included these two tracks below to finish off this evening's post - just because I enjoy them so much - and if you are reading my random musing's on Friday then I hope they help get your weekend off to a great start! They are certainly getting me in the mood for fun times!! :)
