After this weekend, I am hoping for a return to my normal chilled out pace of life, as opposed to the week from hell that this has been! It says a lot when there isn't even much time to get any proper music listening time in (especially when listening to music is something that I usually do alongside many other activities), and I strongly believe that if I was able to enjoy some awesome beats without being disturbed every two minutes, then I would feel a lot calmer and more able to cope.
However, I have managed to get some tracks in here and there, usually in and amongst the many distractions and disturbances, and here for your listening pleasure are a few of the best that I've enjoyed in the past couple of days.
This first track is absolutely gorgeous, it was featured on the Med School New Blood 010 album, which I believe came out last year. The New Blood compilations are brilliant; they provide a slower change of pace when compared to their sister label Hospital Records, and I find their music perfect to relax and unwind to. It is also great for when you just want to put your headphones in, shut out the outside world and concentrate.
This next track is also great for doing exactly that, it's a track from the end of the 1990's that was used on the Soundtrack for Matrix Reloaded, but it has stood the test of time and is still great today. This is Rob Dougan with Furious Angels.
This next track is a bit faster, but still a great one to help you unwind when it's needed. This is Logistics with West Country.
This is a nice dirty little number from Ed Rush and Optical, called Padded Cells. This was from an album called Travel the Galaxies, from 2009, and it's an awesome dark drum and bass tune - I love it! Great for getting your bass face on!
This penultimate track is one from Nu:Tone, that I have absolutely loved for ages now! The vocal in it is great, and it has a perfect rolling beat that can carry you away from your troubles on the dance floor! I love it, and have been listening to this very loudly while I power through my work.
This last track is just incredibly beautiful - in fact, everything I have heard from Ludovico Einaudi is mind blowingly gorgeous. In my opinion, this is the ultimate in music to help you relax and destress, and the passion and emotion of the music helps you put into perspective whatever stresses you currently have on your own mind.
Here's to a better week next week, even if it's not though I'm sure that the music will make it seem that way! :)
