It's just another manic Friday!

I am not sure who first came up with the idea that Friday's were meant to be a relaxing day at work - I can fully vouch for the fact that that is not true at all, well at least not if today is anything to go by anyway! This week has been a particularly crazy one at work, and at times it has literally been only the fact I've had good music to listen to that has kept my sanity within reasonable boundaries.

So what do we have for you today?

Well, these tracks are all ones that remind me of good times, for one reason or another. I hope you enjoy them and that you've been having a slightly more relaxing week than myself.

First up, this track is a fantastic one from REM - possibly one of my favourites of theirs. It has a really edgy feel to it, and whenever I hear it, no matter where I am, I always stop to take a moment and remember the good times I've had while this track has played in the past. This was off their album 'Up', and I love it!

Next up, we have a fantastic track from Hot Chip - this has a great melody, a good vocal, and always puts a smile on my face.

Next up, another band I love as much as Hot Chip, this is The Black Ghosts. Fake Blood is one half of this talented duo, and I've listened to their self titled album so many times that by rights I should be sick of it now, but it still sounds as good as ever. This is the haunting 'I Want Nothing', and it's just awesome.

Next up, we have a gorgeously complex track from Sigur Ros - it's a very ambient track, which makes wonderful use of an attention grabbing vocal, and the fantastic melody of the different layers within the music. Fantastic stuff!

Now it's time for something a little more uplifting to get you in the mood for what we hope will be a gorgeous hot and sunny weekend! This is the Brookes Brothers remix of Crazy World, by J Majik and Wickaman and it's awesome! Such an immense tune, I love it! It's quite an old track now, but it definitely has those summer time vibes in a big way! What a perfect way to finish a Friday of work after a very hectic and crazy week, and start the weekend in style!

Enjoy your weekend everyone, catch you next week!

Pure awesomeness!!

I'd already posted some awesomeness for today, but in the course of the afternoon I have discovered some other lovely beats that are just begging to be shared before I head off for the weekend. So here goes!

Firstly, some lovely breakbeat courtesy of the Finger Lickin's Drumattic twins - not for download unfortunately, but you can listen by clicking here. This mix was uploaded in February last year, I've only just discovered this particular one though, and can confirm that it is pure gorgeousness!! Definitely worth a listen!

If you haven't got time to listen though, check out this track off the mix which is great!

Click here to listen to the newest release from Ruckspin - both the A side and the B side are deliciously enjoyable!

This is the last track of the day, one of my favourite tracks of all time - I always go absolutely mental when I hear this dropped in a club. I haven't heard it for quite a while actually, so brownie points go to the next DJ I hear to play this. Hope this sets your weekend off nicely!!

I like it loud!!

Unfortunately, I can't really turn the volume up as loud as I would like in the office, however I'm lucky enough to be able to listen to music at work which is more than a lot of people, so I'm not going to complain too much. And with it being Friday, luckily we have a whole two days now to crank the volume up!

So today, I have a pretty mixed bag for you. I've been enjoying a random selection of gems from the depths of my hard drive, and here for your listening pleasure are some of the best ones.

This is the first track off the Crimson album by Alkaline Trio, and I love the strings intro, and then the way that it crashes into the guitars. Great stuff!

This is a nice bit of old skool rave, it has a great hands in the air feel, and you can just imagine it being played at a massive underground party.

This is a great summery DnB track, really nice and mellow, quite gentle, but with a lovely driving energy. This evokes images of drinking cider in a big field with friends, watching the sun go down on a warm summers evening, and is just what we need to encourage spring to kick in properly!

This track is from the "How the Days Collide" album by Ben Sage, and the whole album is definitely worth a listen. However continuing in the same vein as the previous track, this is gorgeous gentle melodic summery DnB at its best! Love it!

This penultimate track of the day is one of my favourite tracks of the past few months. It doesn't matter how much I listen to this, I still enjoy it as much as the first time I heard it! This is a great uplifting track that is guaranteed to have you smiling for the weekend.

And finally, we're going to finish on a classic. This tune takes me back to university days and reminds me of some very good friends, and to me it is a timeless classic that can be appreciated as much now, as it could a few years ago. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend y'all!! :)
